The Reasons Why Thai Dramas Get The Viewership Ratings Less Than Before

Viewership ratings are an important point for Thai dramas because it can show the popularity of drama. After changing from using analog to digital TV, the ratings for dramas drop from day to day.

The main reason is the audiences like watching the drama on YouTube or other platforms instead of watching it on the television. In addition, there are many channels in Thailand now including Thai TV3, Thai Channel 7, Workpoint, ONE 31, GMM 25, PPTV, TRUE 4U, and many others.

People have more choices and they can watch other TV programs instead of TV dramas.

Now, most dramas get an average rating of 1% to 3% and those will get from 4% – 8% if the drama receives good feedback from the audiences.

Only big hit TV dramas like Buppesunnivas and Nakee that get the ratings over 10%. This February 2019, an action drama ‘Sarawat Yai’ starring Es Kantapong and Preaw Tussaneeya got a rating of 11.3% for the finale episode.
